Cashtime Life - #DingDongChallenge

Leading South African record label Cashtime Life identified a need to raise engagement levels on award-winning rapper K.O’s twitter account. I then sat with the company’s Digital Media and Promotions Officer Clarence Maxakato, to brainstorm ways to best leverage K.O’s influence on social media.

K.O has a song called ‘Ding Dong’ that from his debut solo album Skhanda Republic. The song is about him confessing his feelings to a crush. My idea was to use the song to get people confessing their feelings to their crushes in a similar way. That’s how #DingDongChallenge competition was born.


Results: The challenge was received well by tweeps, with the hashtag trending soon after K.O tweeted about it.
